CHARLIE & KATHY

A 60' creek with 13 waterfalls which empty into a 900 gallon pond. The pond is set off with a beautiful flagstone patio where you can watch Koi and goldfish all day long. Rustic, mountain rock called MOSS ROCK was used for the waterfall and pond area. Natural moss takes over near the pond area, thanks to the shade provided by the looming oaks. Metal statuary polishes off this lovely pond.

JEAN & EDDIE

Not on the tour, but the final destination stop for the owners of the ponds on tour and the volunteers that assisted them. Lots of fun, food, friends. Great way to finish off a nice evening. Since the owners and volunteers could not go to the other ponds the day of the PUBLIC San Antonio Pond Tour, the next weekend, those individuals could go to the different ponds to see what they missed.

GARY & SANDRA

A 30' stream with waterfalls that meander down to a 2,000g pond with large, beautiful Koi. A large redwood deck looms above this fantastic pond and well landscaped yard. The stream area is home to small goldfish, while the larger pond above corrals the Koi. Large, creative statuary can be found near the pond and throughout the yard.

HORACE & RACHEL

A oval shaped 2,400 gallon pond. Home to goldfish and gambusia. Lilly plants bloom well even under the canopy of oak trees. A very old, almost Victorian plantation look to this pond and backyard.

JAMES & MARY

This natural 3,500g pond has 2 waterfalls that empty into it. Goldfish call this lush pond home. Other water features in this beautiful backyard setting include fountains and a tree stump made into a natural waterfall. Lots of color and rock set off the visual appeal on this pond. The larger waterfall with nice flow can even be heard from the front of the house!

JOHN

Powerful waterfall starts up near the house and winds down a 60' stream and into a 12' diameter pool. Amazing landscape to both the front and back yard. Winding pathways and intimate coves really provide a appeal to this property.

JOHN {PUEBLO}

A 12' stream meanders down the fence line to this backyard pond setting. Backlit for night time ambiance, a fantastic setting to enjoy Koi in the 12' x 8' pond the stream empties into. Bordered to one side by a flagstone patio, this pond also was built with MOSS ROCK. Planting and a independent water feature really go well with this pond.

LARRY

A small deck overlooks 2 6,000 gallon ponds connected by the "Koi chute". A small stream starts into the larger of the 2 ponds. It has a natural bog filter area to help with filtration for the Koi and 2 large catfish! One albino and a channel cat over 2 feet long. Larry's pet land tortoise roams over this backyard domain.

MARIA & TERRENCE

In the front yard is a small, but lush 500g pond home to goldfish and Koi. A decorative ceramic pot starts the waterfall. In the backyard situated in the corner of the patio is a Jack Daniels whiskey barrel water feature. The plants in the barrel serve as a natural bio-bog filter for the goldfish in the pool below. To the side of the house is a above ground lily pond made to grow out lilies of all kinds and a large MOMO BATAN lotus.

MELVIN & MARYLYN

1,500 gallon concrete pond with two tiers and two pools for Koi and goldfish. Set in a lush, well planted backyard, attracts birds that Melvin cares for with plenty of food and a cute waterwheel bird bath. This established pond has done so well, there are baby fish in the upper pool even though all fish are kept to the lower pool?

RANDY & WANDA

Nestled into a Japanese Garden setting this pond owner created a figure 8 style 5,000g pond. This tropical paradise includes a large six foot, 4- tiered waterfall. A small stream runs down the back side of the house a well. The entire backyard is a relaxing attractant to not just humans, but butterflies, humming birds, and dragonflies

SIR OLIVER & KEN

Five different ponds, some in the ground and some above camouflaged by native boulders and a large array of plants, shrubs, and trees. Winner of the 2001 Xeriscape award. Diverse amount of plants used in both the front and back yard. This property situated on top of a hill provides a amazing view over some of the Texas Hill-country side.

TERRY & FRAN

As you enter this amazing backyard, you find a amazing and creative use of plants and shrubs. A 6' circular galvanized tank is detailed up to transform into a pleasing to the eye water feature. Towards the back is a 13 x 13 pond with 12' stream. Beautiful Koi call this pond home.
