The Water Garden Club Of South Texas
Events and Benefits of the Club:
Monthly meetings. Topics include fish & plant care, pond building and filtration, getting the most out of pond
equipment and components, etc. A great way to make new friends and learn so many new aspects of water gardening. We often have guest speakers come to share knowledge on their
specialty.
Plant/Fish swaps including bar-b-que. This event draws members who want to share or receive fish and plant species. A amazing and abundant variety of fish and plants accompany these fun
events. What's nicer than coming home with that lily you've been looking for or that brand new
Koi or goldfish.
Field Trips
such as our club trip to the
Fredericksburg area to partake in tasting wine, picking fresh strawberries, and ending up at Pau Hana Farms to shop their huge selection of water plants.
Participation in shows like Viva Botanical and the Festival of Flowers to help others learn of our great club.
Pond Tour we have for volunteering members of the club to show off all the
hand work and love that went into creating their own ponds. A awesome event of various ponds and water features around San Antonio.
Pond Cleaning help with the gathering of members to make it a group effort to help fellow members
tidy up their pond, trim the plants, and talk fish and pond with friends.
Various other trips such as our bus trip to Houston to check out the great products, fish and plants at Nelson Water Gardens and Brett's Fish farm.
Christmas Party is the perfect way our club likes to close out the year with food and festive fun! A definite not to miss
occasion!
Active participation in the community helping our charitable causes such as those listed above in the first paragraph.
Member pond tours help newcomers to the club visit member's ponds. These established members have volunteered time aside to have visits to their
gardeners to show and tell. A great way to pick up advice from people that have been ponding for years.
Trip to the AUSTIN pond tour. Chartered bus ride to see some fantastic ponds from our fellow pond society.
