2006 FREDERICKSBURG
BUS TOUR: A fantastic field trip the club puts on every
year. A bus whisks members away to scenic Fredericksburg and Marble
Falls Tx to check out some amazing water plants at Pau Hanna Farms.
Then it's on to downtown Fredericksburg for delicious German food.
Don't eat too much, much more to do, this trip still included
Becker's Winery and the Wild Seed Farm. |
 |
| MEMBER MEETING JAN '06: Richard
Mendez taught us to build our very own dechlorinators that we can
simply hook up to our hoses. From now on this important piece of
equipment will save everyone lots of money from having to buy liquid
dechlorinator all the time for our ponds.
Pat & Nikki Rayburg spoke on Purple Martins,
their habits, how to attract them to our yards and how to make our
yards Purple Martin friendly with gourds. These wonderful birds will
accept pre-made plastic gourds or homemade ones.
**UPDATE : 2-27-06 THEY ARE ARRIVING! Nikki
Rayburg states that they are setting up house! 10 birds as of today.
Should be about 50 birds by the time they are all here.
So it's your time to learn all you can from two great pond family
members.
